Frequently Asked Questions

HEALTH AND SAFETY

No, you don’t have to worry about motion sickness. Every part of the system is designed to give you an immersive experience without any of the motion sickness typically associated with virtual reality systems. Because you’re physically moving around a large space, your body won’t have the same confused reaction to being in a different virtual environment.

An incredibly small percentage of our players have pulled out due to motion sickness in the past.

Headsets and controllers are fully cleaned and sanitised after every session. There is always time allocated between experiences to ensure a thorough cleaning after use.

Our standard rules are below, however, some of our venues have modified their accommodations. Please review their player criteria when booking, or contact the venue to confirm if you're able to play.

  • People with vision in one eye are able to play.

  • Players must be 13 years and over to play.

  • Players under the influence of alcohol or drugs will not be allowed to play. You will not receive a refund or credit.

  • Generally, our experiences are not suitable for players who are pregnant, require assistance with mobility, are deaf or hearing impaired, are blind, or have a heart condition. For more information about the experience or accessibility however, please contact the respective venue using the information on the locations page.

  • The experience may trigger epileptic seizures, seizures, fainting, or severe dizziness, even in people who have no history of these conditions. Players with a previous history of epilepsy or seizures, loss of awareness, or other symptoms linked to an epileptic condition should consult a doctor before playing the experience.

We have in-game safety mechanisms that will alert you when you’re close to another person or a wall. We also have a Game Master watching at all times, to help prevent this from happening. It is up to you to pay attention and follow all instructions at all times to remain safe.

To book for a larger group, such as a corporate event, party or a school/university event, head here to book online, or contact your local venue here.

If your group would like to pay for tickets separately, this can still be done via the online booking system. For example, you can book your own tickets and others in your group can log on separately and book the same session.

Gameplay

Our games are all playable in English, however some of our venues also offer additional language options. Contact your local venue if you’d like to confirm what is available.

A maximum of 8 players. Our experience does not support any additional players. For larger groups, you will need to book back-to-back sessions or make a group booking: https://zerolatencyvr.com/group-bookings/

This is an active experience so please make sure you wear comfortable clothes and appropriate footwear (ie. no high heels).

We strongly recommend wearing contact lenses for the experience, as our headsets will not fit large frames due to limited space between the eyes and VR lenses. Small framed glasses can be worn with the headsets. Individual sites will however have exemptions. Please contact your local site for clarification.

Zero Latency experiences are not wheelchair accessible at this time.

The Experience

Yes! Zero Latency has a dedicated development team at our Head Office in Melbourne, Australia, and we create all of our experiences in-house. In some instances, we partner with other development teams to deliver the best quality experience, e.g. Ubisoft with Far Cry VR: Dive Into Insanity, but even in those instances development primarily takes place at our Head Office.

Zero Latency experiences last between 15-30 minutes, depending on the experience. We also offer bundles where you can play multiple games, and play for 45-60 minutes.

Sessions are booked back-to-back so you must arrive on time. We recommend that you arrive 20 minutes early to check in and commence your experience on time. If you are a Zero Latency VR player and members of your booking are late, the following process will apply:

  • Split Team – When you haven’t booked the whole session: If you are part of a split team, we will start the safety briefing on time for all those in attendance. Due to strict time constraints, if the Game Master has started the suit-up process by the time you arrive for your session, we cannot allow you to join.

  • Whole Team – When all players in the session are your friends: If one of the members of your group is late, you have two options:

    • You can start the game without them but if they do not arrive before you start the game, they cannot join.

    • You can wait for them to arrive but your in-game play will be cut short.

If you arrive late you will not receive a credit or refund.

Yes! If there are reservation slots available, we do accept walk-ins. Please note, that during peak periods it may be difficult to walk in. We recommend booking in advance where possible!

Our different experiences and venues have different restrictions and requirements. Please check the age at your local venue when making your booking here or on each experience details page.

Unfortunately not! Our experiences are designed to be played in large spaces, with freedom of movement in mind, and with safety procedures in place to ensure you won’t run into other players or walls. Put simply, Zero Latency experiences are too big to be played at home.
